Ayushman Bharat Beneficiary Portal e-KYC: How to Check Your Ayushman Card Status Online

If you've already submitted your application for an Ayushman Bharat card, you don't need to visit any office to find out whether it's ready. The entire process — checking your family's card status and completing e-KYC for any member whose verification is still pending — can be completed on your phone in just a few minutes.

An active Ayushman Bharat card entitles each enrolled family to cashless treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh every year, usable at tens of thousands of empanelled government and private hospitals across India. But that benefit only kicks in once every family member's e-KYC has been completed and verified. So if any name on your family list still shows "Identified" or "Authenticate" instead of a completed status, it's worth sorting out sooner rather than later.

Why e-KYC Matters

e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) links a beneficiary's Aadhaar-verified identity to their Ayushman Bharat record. Until this step is done for a family member, their card cannot be finalised or downloaded — even if the household is already approved under the scheme. The process is completely free, takes only a few minutes per person, and can be completed entirely from home; there's no need to visit a Common Service Centre or a hospital help desk unless you encounter a technical issue.

The only requirement is that the beneficiary's Aadhaar number must be linked to an active mobile number, since the process relies on OTP verification.

Step-by-Step: How to Complete Ayushman Bharat e-KYC Online

  1. Visit the official portal. Go to the Ayushman Bharat Beneficiary Portal at https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/. This is the official government website, so always double-check the URL before entering any personal details.
  2. Log in as a beneficiary. Select the "Beneficiary" login option, fill in the captcha, and enter a mobile number that's currently active. Verify the OTP sent to that number to log in.
  3. Choose the scheme and location. After logging in, select "PMJAY," then choose your state and district. Pick "Ration Card" as the search category, enter your ration card number, and click Search.
  4. Check your family's status. This brings up a list of all family members linked to that ration card. Anyone whose name shows "Identified" alongside an "Authenticate" button still needs to complete e-KYC.
  5. Start authentication. Click "Authenticate" next to the relevant name, then verify both the Aadhaar OTP and the beneficiary's mobile OTP.
  6. Complete the e-KYC step. On the next screen, select the e-KYC option, choose the beneficiary's name, and pick the Aadhaar OTP method. Verify the OTP again, then click Allow.
  7. Upload a photo. Use the "Capture Photo" option to upload a live photo of the beneficiary. Once it uploads successfully, fill in the required address details and click Submit.
  8. Confirmation. A message reading something like "e-KYC is complete. Once the state verification is completed, please download the Ayushman Card" will appear. This means your part is done — the card can be downloaded once the state government completes its own verification.

What If It Still Shows "State Verification Pending"?

Don't worry, and don't go running to any office over this. Once e-KYC is submitted on your end, the record simply waits for state-level verification. When that verification is approved, the status changes accordingly, and the Ayushman Bharat Health Card becomes available for download directly from the same portal.

Quick Recap

  • Aadhaar must be linked to an active mobile number before starting e-KYC.
  • The process is 100% free — no fees are charged at any step.
  • Everything can be completed from a smartphone at home.
  • The official portal link is: https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/

Always complete this process only through the official NHA beneficiary portal linked above, and avoid third-party sites or apps claiming to offer the same service, since they may misuse your Aadhaar and personal details.
